Portable Appliance Testing - A test of portable electrical appliances to ensure they are safe to use.
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 requires any electrical equipment that has the potential to cause injury is maintained in a safe condition. It is the employers responsibility to ensure all electrical equipment is safe for all who will use it, whether you are in a school, shop or an office whether you have 1 member of staff or 1000.
TLC will PAT test any electrical equipment you have to ensure its users are safe. Our professional engineers with over 10 years experience will come to you and provide you with a full report of every item tested along with a certificate and individual pass and fail label for every appliance tested to prove your compliance to UK guidelines and show you have met your legal obligations to ensure that all electrical appliances are maintained to the highest possible safety standards.
Each individual electrical item will be tested. We will carry out visual checks to the plug, the fuse, the cable, the items casing and its body to ensure it is complete, undamaged and no missing parts. In cases where the plug or fuse need changing this will be done as part of the PAT test free of charge. Once phase one of the testing is complete we move on to the second phase. Now we will electrically test the item using our specialist calibrated testing equipment to see if the item passes the current industry standards.
Items that pass have a “Passed” label applied and items that have failed have a “failed” label applied. A full report is given to you itemising each and every item tested and a test certificate is issued to your organisation as proof that a professional, high quality test of your premises has been completed.
Our professional team are here to help you in whatever area your business is - small to large business, Lettings agents, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Shops and retail outlets, Offices, Hotels, Holiday lets, B & Bs, DJs, all industrials units or any workplace where electrical equipment is used.
